Additional history disclosed that the plaques expanded, migrated and disappeared over a matter of days, eliminating all but the correct diagnosis: figurate erythema, a reactional (hypersensitivity) state.

Allergic Reaction to Strap on Personal Heart Rate Monitor in a Marathon Runner
