The COVID-19 pandemic led to lost ground against antimicrobial resistance in the US, says Meneghetti, who trained as a pulmonary critical care physician and is now executive director of medical information at point-of-care mobile reference app epocrates. She adds that the 2022-23 respiratory virus season is going to look different all over the country based on local vaccination status, mask wearing, and other public and individual variables. One of the most important decisions prescribers will make this season is when and when not to write for an antibiotic.
