Look for Traveling Tinea
When you treat a patient for tineacruris (jock itch), always check hisfeet as well.
When you treat a patient for tinea cruris (jock itch), always check his feet as well. Almost invariably, you will find that he also has tinea pedis, tinea unguium, or both. Be sure to examine all the toe webs as well. This infection is easily spread from the feet to the groin. By treating all involved areas, you will reduce the large number of tinea cruris “treatment failures.”
