For your diabetes patients at home or soon to be at home, use these tips from the ADA and AACE on creating an emergency plan.

Many diabetes patients cared for by primary care physicians are confined to home to decrease risk of exposure to SARS-CoV-2 infection. Patient Care consulted recommendations from the American Diabetes Association and the American Assocation of Clinical Endocrinologists for how patients with diabetes can prepare for emergencies like the current pandemic, when ready access to needed medications and materials may be limited.Use the suggestions in the slides below as a checklist to help your diabetes patients get organized for an extended period at home or to inventory their existing emergency supplies and plans.
