Global confirmed cases of COVID-19 have surpassed 95 million. We summarize more of today's data from the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map.

How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, January 18, 2021 at 9:22 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 23 938 288 confirmed cases
• 397 611 deaths

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 2 991 731
2. Texas: 2 127 625
3. Florida: 1 571 279
4. New York: 1 242 561
5. Illinois: 1 068 829

Deaths: New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 40 993 reported fatalities, followed by California with 33 623 deaths, and Texas with 32 600.

Recoveries: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 1 677 588 people who have recovered, followed by Ohio with 678 264 recoveries and Tennessee with 610 796.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 38 228 615 people tested, followed by New York with 28 979 498 people tested, and Florida with 17 654 084 people tested.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally?

Globally, there have been 95 135 784 confirmed cases, 2 032 787 deaths, and 52 424 995 recoveries.
