Turner Syndrome

Turner syndrome is a genetic disorder in females in which one of the X chromosomes is missing or incomplete.

The widely separated nipples and webbed neck of these newborns indicate Turner syndrome, a genetic disorder in females in which one of the X chromosomes is missing or incomplete (A). Affected newborns typically have puffy hands and feet (B). Half of patients with Turner syndrome have abnormal genitourinary tracts, usually horseshoe-shaped kidneys.

All women with this disorder are infertile because they lack ovaries. They remain sexually infantile throughout life.
