Take the Tourette Test

Article

Find out what you know about a common neuropsychiatric disorder by taking this quick 8-question quiz.

A 14-year-old boy had a perioral rash, seemingly the result of lip licking, that did not improve with treatment from several physicians. Worse, he demonstrated several disturbing behavioral issues, which he blamed on the discomfort of the rash and his mother blamed on poor attitude. Ultimately the diagnosis-Tourette syndrome-shed light on both of these concerns.

Tourette is not always identified correctly because most cases are mild and tic severity decreases for most children as they grow older. Take this quick 8-question quiz to test your knowledge of a common neuropsychiatric disorder and how to recognize it.

Note: If you would like more information on any of the questions, a link to the original article, “The Mysterious Case of the Boy who Barked,” is provided on the last page of the quiz.
