Medical cannabis is already popular with Medicare recipients and many fear insurance coverage will drive up the cost. Find out what else a new survey found.
Medicare recipients are not strangers to medical marijuana, a new survey finds. In fact, 1 in 5 recipients currently use medical cannabis and approximately one-third spend between $201 and $500 monthly on the alternative medical product.
The recent survey, conducted April 1-2, 2022 by MedicarePlans.com, polled 1250 Americans aged ≥65 years who recieve heatlh insurance through Medicare. Current medical cannabis users are afraid of price increases if insurance companies become involved, according to the results, but even a majority of those who have never used medicinal pot support Medicare coverage because they believe it is effective when other treatments fail.
