Painful Diabetic Neuropathy Treatment: A Guideline Topline

Slideshow

Painful diabetic neuropathy (PDN) affects more than 16% of patients with diabetes and is the most common form of peripheral neuropathy.

The American Academy of Neurology recently issued a guideline on oral and topical treatments for PDN published in the journal Neurology, which updated its 2011 guidance. Authors searched the literature from January 2008 to April 2020 using a structured review process to classify the evidence and develop practice recommendations. In the slides below, find a concise summary of the guideline.
