Twelve years after having her ear pierced, a 58-year-old woman presented with a keloid on the right lobe's medial surface. The lesion initially developed 2 years after the piercing, at which time it was excised and intralesional triamcinolone acetonide was administered intermittently. The keloid recurred 2 years later.

The patient sought treatment of the recurrent keloid 8 years later. The lesion was excised and a 2-year regimen of intralesional triamcinolone acetonide-given every 3 months-was begun.
